I've been collecting and writing little blurbs for images I'm finding on Pinterest, as a way to collect all of my image-based references. I find it helpful for seeing at a glance things that can spark off ideas, as images collected together cause links in the mind between them, generating more rich and varied ideas than one would have without them.
